Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given unto you as well.
What are we seeking? Are we seeking fame and fortune, or are we seeking money and possessions. Or are we seeking the one person who offers us true fulfillment?
You see, what we seek is very important. If we are seeking after the wrong things, then we will probably never find them. Even if we do get what we are seeking, we will not be able to really enjoy it. What are those wrong things you may ask? If anything has first place in your life besides God, then it is not what you should be seeking.
Matthew 6:33 says “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given unto you as well.” God seeks those who will seek Him first, above all else. God does not want the lust after money or possessions to take prime place in our lives. God wants to be first, not somewhere in the middle. I’m not saying it is wrong to seek possessions, but it must be done with a right motive. If the motive is for selfish gain, then it is wrong. But if the motive is to bless others, then God is pleased.
