2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
I long to be a woman of my word. So often I find myself promising to call people or promising to keep in touch but, when it comes down to it, my selfishness wins out and I make myself a liar.
In light of my shortcomings I am struck by the faithfulness of our God. What He has said He will do, He always does… what He spoke to the prophets always comes true. I see His faithfulness in times of blessings and His grace in times of punishment.
God is full of integrity and what He has promised to do, He will do. He promised to make a great nation from Abraham and, in their ripe old age, Abraham and his wife had Isaac. God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, the very fulfillment of His promise, and at the last minute, provided a lamb in Isaac’s place as a testament to the promise He made to Abraham. It was Isaac who became the father of the twelve tribes of Israel.
How much faith should we have, then, when we are told, “The Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one?” Yes, we are in a war and Satan is wagging daily battles against any good we might try to do in our lives or the lives of others, but the same God who kept His word for Abraham has promised to strengthen and protect us from the evil one. In light of this, Satan is no longer a lion, but a little poodle nipping at our heels. The God of the universe promises us His strength to face our opponent. Are you allowing Him to give that to you? Don’t forget that you must spend time in His Word and in prayer to understand His protection and strength.
This was a GREAT ENCOURAGEMENT today, and I needed to be reminded of the promise of God’s protection from the evil one. Please keep this ministry going. God Bless you!
