2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
My eyes had not yet been opened
And my flesh was still ignorant of the sun.
Created to breath, to laugh, and to love,
Yet I was content to remain where I was.
How could I imagine all that awaited me
With darkness my sole companion?
Deliverance implies a new beginning and no birth is complete until it has
unconditionally abandoned that which it previously clung to.
Once I was separated from it
It could never sustain me again.
Life demands light, warmth, and growth.
To do without, my soul would hunger and thirst.
Only by forsaking the old and grasping the new
Would I truly find peace, and live life for You.
