My favorite was actually verse 1.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, His loving kindness is everlasting.”
What a beautiful Psalm. What an awesome Father, for His loving kindness is everlasting. Hallelujah!
In time when worst comes to worst or good come to good, in the end and the beginning, you always need to, “give thanks to the Lord,” because, “He is good” to us and because, ” His loving kindness is everlasting.” What is a better way to start off your day with a verse like that. =)
This Psalm is a hymn of praise like the preceding: a call to praise (v. 1-3), a cause for praise (v 4-25), and a conclusion (v 26). However, this psalm is absolutely unique because its refrain is repeated at the end of each verse: “for His mercy endureth for ever.” The psalm was no doubt sung antiphonally with the people responding with the refrain. The word ‘mercy’ is important in the Psalter. It refers to God’s loyal love for His people: He is in covenant with them, and He loves to be loyal with that covenant.
