Psalms 139:7
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?
How far is too far? I’ve asked that question once or twice when I questioned God’s forgiveness of my sin. Sometimes I think I have done the worst thing imaginable, and God will turn His back on me, and I will be getting what I deserve. As humans we are destined to fail. We will never shed the propensity to sin as long as we are in this tent of flesh. In the mean time, we will contend with the thoughts of “how far is too far?”
I love my children and I know in my heart that there is never a stopping point of my love for them. They can hate me and turn away and run from me, and although that may break my heart, I will never stop loving them because they are my flesh and blood. It is the same when it comes to our eternal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We may stumble and fall in the most despicable ways and turn and run from God. We may even break God’s heart, but I tell you that He still loves us because, in Jesus, we are God’s own flesh and blood.
