Romans 10:11
For the Scripture says “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”
Disappointment is one of the most helpless feelings you will ever own. It’s the assurance of hopelessness. For as long as you can hold on to hope, you may also fend off the advancement of disappointment. Thus, its settlement in your soul marks the arrival of permanent change.
Hope is the fuel that powers our lives. We hope for happiness, wealth, relationships, green lights, and ninth inning homeruns. Without hope, there would be no need for reformations, presidential elections, or life itself. Without hope, even disappointment would cease to exist.
But you do hope. And as long as you continue to place your hope in anything other than Jesus Christ, disappointment will reign.
But whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.
I pray that you would look only to Jesus today. Believe that He is in control of your happiness, your green lights, and life itself. Believe that He is your only hope for salvation and you will not be disappointed today, tomorrow, or for all of eternity.
