John 10:27,28
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand.
How comforting it is to know that the God of this universe loves me. How incomprehensible it is to think that the Creator of all I see died on a tree for my sins. My God is so big! My God is so gracious! I have done nothing to deserve the blessings that He has given to me. Even on the worst of days, in the most undesirable of situations, I find that I am blessed to be a child of God. How good it is to know the voice of my Father, the Creator of the Universe.
It is this amazing God that desires for all of creation to come into His protection. It is this merciful God that longs for those that hate His name. He wishes for them to simply reach out and take His hand. For once they take His hand, “they shall never perish.” It is God’s desire that no one should perish, but that all would come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9). To do this though, they need to hear His voice. They need to understand His calling to them.
I have learned that I am to be the Father’s voice to those that do not know Him. We all are to be His voice. But to speak for the Lord we also must be able to hear what He has to say. It is easy to hear Him when we sit down at night and talk only to Him. It is harder though, to hear the Savior’s voice as we go throughout our day.
I challenge you to listen for the Lord’s voice today. Where is He speaking to you? When is He speaking to you? It is my guess that He speaks to us more than we realize.
