Romans 8:35
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
We often base our lives and hope in things that are not sure and will not last. I have counseled countless students about High school relationships. Many of them have been willing to walk away from their faith, their family and their morals in order to keep this relationship going. Three months later, they are no longer together.
We often do not follow Jesus with the fervor that is due Him. We are concerned about friends who will turn their backs on us. We allow them to decide what we do, how we act… just to be part of the group.
Paul is very clear about the Love of Christ. It is sure, trustworthy, definite, there. No matter how hard we try, no matter how hard others try, no matter how hard the evil one may try… we cannot be separated from His love.
In financial struggles, He loves us. In rebellion, He loves us. In sadness, He loves us. In loneliness, He loves us. During persecution, He loves us. When all else fails and every one leaves us…He loves us.
Great truth for the day. Thanks!
