What does it mean to be a living sacrifice?
It means that you sacrifice your life to God; you give it up. You surrender your right to run your own life. Secondly, it means to live your life everyday in a way that would be pleasing to God. You are not half hearted in what you do; you are continually giving your life to Jesus. You are not just giving your life when everybody is there on Sunday.
How do we offer our bodies as living sacrifices?
I believe this may refer to the way people present themselves, especially in public. Think about the way you act, speak, how you treat people, and how you dress; is it honoring to God?
How can I live my life as a living sacrifice?
Don’t conform to the world. Don’t just go along with the crowd, so you won’t stand out. Any true believer is going to come up against opposition, because Satan hates believers. We need to learn how to stand up for what we believe in, even if it means personal sacrifice.
We must also allow God to transform our lives. This can be done by renewing our minds through the Word of God. If you want God to transform your life, but you are not spending time in His Word, then you’re not going to grow. It’s like trying to drive a car without fuel; it can’t be done.
