2 Corinthians 4:8, 16-18
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed… Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory which far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
Don’t give up! This has been the motto for my life. How do you ever expect to get anywhere in your Christian walk if you sit down and give up?
When God’s people were going through the wilderness, they had plenty of opportunities to give up. In fact, most of them did. You know what? They died out there.
All of their lives, they had been hearing of this ‘Promised Land’ that God was going to give them. Yet because it got too hard, they gave up. Eventually the whole generation of Israelites died, and only two people from the original generation of over 1 million people actually got there.
Isn’t this a sad thing to see? The people of God were in line for tremendous blessings, yet they never really got off the starting block. Don’t be one of those people!
Times are tough, but that’s not a reason to quit. Get some Holy Ghost inspiration and stand up! Stop feeling sorry for yourself, and get off your butt!
This was God’s message to me a few years ago. I got quite a shock, but once I got over the shock, I realised He was right. I got up, and refused to give up. If you do the same, He will do amazing things for you!
Powerful!
