Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
For those who seek to honor God with their lives, there should be no dilemma or need worthy of anxiety. Paul’s words echo the very command of our Lord Jesus, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life… (Matthew 6:25). He who saved us from our sins also promises that if we “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:31).
It is for this reason that our anxiety is not deemed profitable in any situation. Whether the Christian suffers heartache in responsibility, relationships, or health, he is to “in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let his requests be made known to God.” It is only after the Christian allows himself to become the weaker vessel, that the glory of such a powerful God will be revealed in his life.
Your anxiety is deemed unworthy, not because you have an uncompassionate God, but because you have an all-powerful Father who waits for you at His throne of grace, “that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:15-16). It is for this reason that we are commanded to come with such thanksgiving.
