Psalms 19:7
The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
Life will be difficult if you never learn how to cope with its wonderful surprises. I’ve known people whose whole world was falling down around them, and yet, they still maintained an unexplainable peace in the midst of it all. On the other hand, I have also known friends with no coping skills whatsoever. As soon as the first sign of trouble comes along… bam, they’re out of there. They would rather run from it all than deal with the problem directly.
I have to admit that I’ve fallen just about everywhere in between those two spectrums at one point or another. From personal testimony, let me encourage you to always make peace your goal. Not just any peace will do either, only that which comes through a total reliance on God and His word as spoken through the Bible. “The Law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul.” It’s like a glass of water after a hot day of work. Nothing else will hit the spot or restore the soul like the word of God. It gives counsel to the hurting, wisdom to the lost, and peace to the troubled.
Are you in a bind today? Do you need help out of a difficult situation? Are you desperately looking for wisdom or encouragement? I pray that your first stop would be in the Bible. It is only here that you will find true peace and the ability to cope with whatever you may be facing.
