Look To The Sky!

Zechariah 14:7
For it will be a unique day which is known to the Lord, neither day nor night, but it will come about that at evening time there will be light.
Anticipation is a wonderful feeling. I’m not sure if it is even possible to describe the emotional state one reaches when true anticipation sets in on his or her soul. It’s the same feeling you had the week before your fifth birthday, the month before graduation, or for the two seconds between, “Do you take this man,” and the pursing “I do.” It’s hard to wait for such a good thing because of the guaranteed thrill experienced with its arrival.
As I read the text of Zechariah 14 (one I don’t often find myself in), I must admit a sense of conviction and jealousy, both the result of the author’s pen. His words remind me of how seldom I think about the Lord’s return. I become all the more jealous when I realize that Zechariah never saw the Christ. He never read about Jesus’ miracles and healing power. He only had the hope of God’s promise to send a Savior. And yet, through the pen of prophecy, he looked beyond Christ’s death and resurrection to the anticipation of His second coming. You can almost hear the excitement in his voice as he talks out loud while writing verse nine. “And the Lord will be king over all the earth; in that day the Lord will be the only one, and His name the only one!”
Wow! How often do you think of that glorious day? Have you ever looked to the sky after being startled by a loud noise or after being swept off your feet by an unexpected gust of wind? I challenge you to anticipate it today. Look for it, hope for it… Live for it!

I agree Glenn. Without hope and anticipation, our lives are 'hopeless' and defeated. We are easily down trodden when we don't have hope.
