Walk the Talk! :: Deeper Devotion

James 2:14-16
What use is it, my brethren, if a man says he has faith, but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?”

People who just talk about doing things, then don’t do them, really bug me. I hate it when Christians talk about serving God, and never get around to actually doing it. This Christian life is a practical one. I like people to be practical in their Christian walk.

I absolutely despise it when all Christians do is talk. I would much rather be out doing it, then just talking about it. What is the purpose of faith, if you do nothing with it? Suppose you can help someone, but you don’t. Where is your faith really at?

I want you to seriously ask yourself this question. Where is my faith at? Am I spending my time doing too much talking, and not enough walking?

It doesn’t do us any good to just sit in church and hear the Word. That’s what many Christians do though; they sit in church. That’s all they do. Doesn’t do anybody any good to just hear it, you have to do it as well.

I can sit in my garage, but that doesn’t make me a car. No matter how long I sit in my garage, no matter how much I talk about being a car, do you think that will make me a car? I can sit in church all my life, but that doesn’t make me a Christian. I can talk about it, but that doesn’t make me a Christian.
