Romans 1:18
For the wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men.
God’s wrath is real. Try as you might, you cannot ignore it. Just as His righteousness is never withheld from anyone who places their faith in Christ’s atonement, neither is His wrath withheld from anyone who attempts to ignore the very existence of His truth. As Romans 1:19-20 makes abundantly clear, no one is without excuse. God has made His truth known to every man. As soon as you decide to step away from His truth, His wrath will fill the void.
God’s wrath is manifest in this: “And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper” (Romans 1:28). To ignore the precepts and the truth of God’s presence in your life is to place yourself in a never-ending circle of self-destruction. Apart from the truth of God, your thinking becomes meaningless, your wisdom becomes foolishness, and your heart becomes darkened (Romans 1:21). To be apart from God is to be the subject of His wrath.
God’s truth is constantly being revealed to all humanity. It’s instilled within our souls and found within creation itself (Romans 1:19-20). To you who are walking in faith, and thereby acknowledging Him, His righteousness will be shown to you (Romans 1:17). But to you who reject His truth for your own foolishness, His wrath will become more than evident in your life (Romans 1:28-31).
