God sword by himself and sword to Abraham the Father of Faith what He would do. Read: Deuteronomy 28:1-14. This was God promising Himself that He would do what He says He will do. Since He is God He can make Himself a promise and not lie. To the contrary if we swear, we are putting ourselves above God and declaring that we can tell Almighty God what to do. We can make promises but we must use Matthew 6:10. Say if it be the will of God not my will but Father according to your word… etc. I cringe when believers say “I swear” No reason to swear!
