Proverbs 15:29
The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.
Revelation 8:3, 4 speaks of the prayers of the saints going up as incense before the Lord. He delights in the time you spend communicating with Him. As a child of God, you have the promise that He will always hear your prayers… even when His presence with you can not be felt. As the proverb reminds us, there was a time when we were wicked by nature and far from the presence of the Lord. But now that you have been raised with Christ, your life is hidden with Christ, in God (Colossians 3:1). He will never let you go. Your prayers are a sweet aroma to the Creator of the universe, and He hears every one.
Are there unanswered prayers in your life? Have you gone for too long without feeling the hand of the Lord resting so gently on your shoulder? Are you tempted to give up? Know that He’s there. Know that He loves you. We must rest on the promises of Scripture when we encounter darkness within our soul Do not give up on Him who has promised to never leave you nor forsake you. Commit His promises to memory, and remember that nothing is able to separate you from the love of Christ (Romans 8:35). Put your faith in Jesus, and never cease from praying In so doing, you too will be able to repeat the words of David with confidence when he said, “I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry” (Psalm 40:1).
