Putting Life Back Together

Matthew 17:11
“And He answered and said, “Elijah is coming and will restore all things.”

The prophecy of the coming of Elijah found in Malachi 4:6 gave great hope to the nation of Israel who believed that GOD would hear their cries and deliver them from the heavy hand of their oppressors. They believed that the One who would come in the spirit of Elijah would be Messiah, the very Salvation of GOD, and that this One who saves would “restore all things”. They were convinced that Messiah would topple the existing government, and restore political reign. What they failed to realize was that Messiah was coming to put things back like they were in Genesis, back in the days when man and GOD could walk together, and talk together. Messiah, when He came, would remove the curse of sin that came from Adam, and return glory to man by dwelling within him. Indeed, He would restore all things.

Jesus Christ the Lord is Messiah, and apart from Him the broken things in your life can not be put back together. Broken lives, broken relationships, broken families, can only be put back together by the power of GOD through Jesus Christ. If you’re living with brokenness right now and need things in your life put back together, all you have to do to begin the process of healing in your life is to pray and ask Jesus to come into your life, and to heal that which is broken in your life. On the other hand, maybe your life isn’t broken at all and Jesus is blessing you abundantly. If that is you, then you have an obligation to go out into the highways and byways and introduce this broken world to its Savior who restores all things.

“A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory (Matthew 12:20).”
