Romans 5:8
But God shows his great love for us in this way: Christ died for us while we were still sinners.
What an amazing message! I want to “shout it from the mountain top: PRAISE GOD!” I want to let everyone in the world know this amazing message God gave us.
Look at the first eight words of this verse. “But God shows his great love for us.” God loves each and every one of his children. You are included in that. Beyond God having a great love for us, he actually shows us. He gives us a sign. Here he is not even asking us to accept love blindly.
The sign God gives us just happens to be one of the building blocks that our faith’s foundation is made of. Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, died for you, for me, for everyone even though we are not perfect. Christ came and took away our sin, making us perfect in God’s eyes. All we have to do is accept this gift. If you have not already accepted Christ into your heart, I encourage you to. If you have accepted Christ, I encourage you to strengthen your relationship with him and remember what he did for you. If you read other verses, you will find that we are doing good or doing evil. We are either strengthening our relationship with Christ, or breaking it down. It takes an effort on our part to actually strengthen this relationship. But if we keep God near, this effort will be much less, and our relationship will grow like a friendship does.
