Genesis 2:7
Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
In a world so permeated by false doctrines and teachings that are based on a false understanding of God, it is becoming harder and harder to recognize the truths from the lies. Amongst the many lies that you and I must refute every day is the source of mans existence. Where did we come from and how did we get here? As a child of God, it is important that we don’t allow manmade philosophies to distract us from the authoritative and trustworthy Word of God.
Genesis 2:7 is one of the most important sentences that you, as a human being, will ever read. It speaks of the creation of you. You were created by God Himself. Chance did not have any part in our creation as a race or your creation as a person. As you go throughout your day today, you can take joy in knowing that there is a living God who purposed to create you.
Not only did a living God created you, but the Bible tells us that He “formed” you. This word formed speaks of a creative process. God took joy in the formation of your body and your soul. Like an artist would give attention to the smallest details of his creation, so the Lord has done with mankind as a whole and with you as an individual. King David praises God for his formation in Psalm 139. Verses 13-14 capture the joy that you are privileged to after embracing this biblical truth: “For Thou didst form my inward parts; thou didst weave me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Thy works, and my soul knows it very well.”
Does your soul “know if very well.” I pray that it would. I challenge you to walk like a man or woman who knows he or she was created by a living God. You are not the result of an ancient chemical reaction.
