What a great article and descriptive parallel. I really enjoyed your point about covering up for our mistakes and eventually becoming bound by the cover-ups. You are an incredible writer and your illustrations always make me think. Thank you!

I've been thinking a lot lately about James 4:17. Anyone who knows what the right thing to do is, but does not do it, SINS! In other words, complacency is sin. Man, that is a tough Word. How many hours a week do I watch meaningless TV, which is doing contrary things to my spirit than what the Lord wants to do with me? How many times have I had to wife off a layer of dust from my Bible? I'm ashamed to admit how long I spend in prayer every day.

Your example in the article of fixing your car goes right along these lines. Thanks for sharing. If we think of ourselves as broken down cars, and know that what the Lord wants to 'drive' is a brand new, shiny, super-fast, perfectly tuned (insert your favorite car type here) - We'd go get a tune up!
