Thank you Glenn for reminding us of the importance of taking a stand on things. You're right, the Scripture is very clear on the urgency of purity...it's not something that the Lord recommends, He is very clear about how much we need to be checking our thoughts and actions. What I liked best about this article is where you mentioned the correlation between reading the Word and knowing truth. The reality is that if we are not refreshing ourselves with the word, truth does become hazy, and sticky situations do follow. Anyway, thanks for the reminder, I appreciate you calling attention to an issue that is fading in today's society.

Awesome ariticle Glenn. I like the part about measuring ourselves and what we do to what God's Word says, not what the world says or does or thinks is evil.

Wow...ouch, that hit home big time...In high school, even the Christian one that I attend, there are so many conflicting messages that we are sent. In Bible class we are told to boldly stand for what is right, yet in the back of that same class, some are planning a drinking party. We are banned from reading Harry Potter books at school, but no one tells us that they are wrong. High school is four years of confusion anyway, and the mixed messages from the two worlds we are forced to live in make it worse. I'll admit, part of it is hypocrasy on my part, I know what I should be following God, yet it's hard to say "No, I don't think I'll go to that drinking party, although it's being planned by my friends, and a lot of people will be there. I'll just stay home and watch game shows while everyone is out having a blast." I probably sound really whiney, and maybe I am, but it's through the power of God that I know what choices to make, through Him I can turn the grey areas into black and white, and if I am to glorify Him, even in high school, I just gotta learn that God is the only way, despite what the world says.
